Powered by The People! is thrilled to announce that a collaboration of community organizations will now be pedalling forward together generating bicycle power in Calgary. Arusha, The Good Life Community Bike Shop and Two Wheel View will be managing bookings for pedal power and taking this project to the next level. Thank you to all who have supported the pedal power peloton thus far, and all our best to the new peloton leaders and parents!

What better way to start a day of Bike to Work week than with a bike-blended smoothie? See Tony Spoletini, famed Calgary Stampeders fullback, pedal his way to a tasty, healthy breakfast. The charismatic athlete now owns Spolumbo’s Sausages – perhaps pedal-powered sausage-making lies in his future?? Tony’s athletic prowess gets the job done quickly – and nearly bathes us all in bike-blended smoothie!

Ups to Two Wheel View and The Sunnyside Garage Band for fueling the first public ride of Powered by The People!
Musicians plugged their equipment into a pedal power generator (the ‘Biker Bar’) and four keen bikers hopped into the saddle. As they pedaled, they pumped the sweet sounds of the Sunnyside Garage Band to an exhilarated audience.
Talk about event participation! Bikers took turns using their energy to fuel the band and to blend tasty drinks on the Blender Bike -keeping the whole crowd well-hydrated and in the mood to pedal and to party.
